A Case of Leiomyoma of the Ovary

Abstract

|
Although smooth muscle is sometimes sec(?) a minor component of benign ovarian mullerian epithelial tumors. Primary smooth-muscl(?)nors of the ovary are rare. These tumors only originate from smooth muscle in the walls of blood vessels in the
cortical
stroma, in the corpus luteum and in the ovrian ligaments at there point of attachment of the ovary. These tumors are usually asymptomatic and are usually found incidentally during operations or at autopsies.
A case of 45-year-old woman with a leiomyoma of the ovary which was experienced on our hospital recently is presented with a review of literatuers.
